Retinol Cell Renewal
An article published the New York Times discussed three treatments that were shown to remove wrinkles. Two of these promising practices include the use of cosmeceutical ingredients hylauronic acid and retinol.
The effect of the retinoids such as retinoic acid (vitamin A acid) and retinol (vitamin A alcohol) is complex. Retinoic acid became the first widely used product for skin renewal. Retinol is much weaker at skin renewal but may have potent actions on decreasing excessive breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin, a process that become increasing excessive as we age.

Retinol is a topical form of vitamin A that is used in many anti-wrinkle and anti-aging treatments.
According to the United States Food and Drug Administration website, the three topical retinol treatments currently available for approved use as topical acne and wrinkle products--Adapalene's Differin, Tretinoin's Renova and Retin-A, and Tazarotene's Avage and Tazorac--have all been rated safe for topical use. However, caution warnings about sun exposure, use with other medications, and use during pregnancy, do exist for these drugs in prescription form.
Retinol boosts the epidermal layer of the skin by promoting cell production, making the skin look rejuvenated and even-toned.
Natural retinoids are present in all living organisms, either as preformed vitamin A or as carotenoids, and are required for a vast number of biological processes like vision and cellular growth.
Retinol is available in cream form. It modifies the abnormal formation on the superficial layer of the skin (keratinization) near hair follicles.
